Our Design Process

Pre-Design Discovery

We know home design can be a scary experience and most people don’t know where to begin. Paul lays out the process, the timeframe, and the necessary team players to start visualizing your project. Then the fun discussions of design aspirations can begin.

Schematic Design

In this phase of design you will discuss the pinterest images, friends kitchens, and functional aspirations. We will explore the practical application of your design preferences to include aesthetics and flow. At this stage, we invite all desired layouts, pictures, and storybook dreams to be presented.

 Design Development

Analysis of desired use and constructibility will commence at this stage to insure the final design will fit into the environment, lifestyle, and budget of every client. We have a library of subcontractors we can invite to help achieve the design/build team that each client prefers at the level of value they expect.

 Construction Documents

Once the Design Development is concluded, construction documents are created by our design team, and we will invite others to provide analysis to finalize design and commence construction. 

Engineering

Structural, mechanical, and geotechnical engineers will provide analysis in order to move into the permitting process for construction.

Permitting

Once the design is approved by the local jurisdictions, shovels can break ground and the fun begins.

Construction Administration

Our team will stay with our clients throughout construction to insure that the design expectations are met. We can provide site visits at critical times during construction and employ experts on the team to provide oversight. From the first introduction to the occupancy approval, Good Harbor will be your advocate.
